Flappers 1920s

The "roaring twenties" flapper era was a time of social change in the western world as Victorian style and values were making way for empowered young women. Music and dance styles changed after WW1 and the automobile opened up more opportunities for people to go places that had been less accessible. Women were making more of a presence in the workforce having played supportive roles during the war besides military service. Young people were redefining cultural norms as they gathered in dance halls rather than sewing circles.
Included in these #davidjdills collages, is a photo of Mabel, a friend who related happy memories of her flapper days.
