Collage Christmas - Now and Then

#christmas2023 #xmasart #cutandpaste #davidjdills Happy New Year 2024! Here's hoping that we bring in the #newyear2024 with hope, health, and happiness along the way. Cheers, David This #cutandpaste #collage was a fun project and like the challenge of setting a mood with colours. Since first hearing it, I loved Nat King Cole's hit, The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting On An Open Fire) and did a couple of collages dedicated to the great #natkingcole. The collage and clipping is related only by the fact that I am old enough to remember what a good television show he had and sad that he was cancelled for racial reasons. He was a perfect host and his songs touched people through his voice and delivery. In Scotland, bagpipes are part of the Christmas holiday season and have lifted my mood listening to Winter songs with an ensemble of musicians. The retro #carolers express a part of my childhood since it was fun walking through neighborhoods singing popular songs of the time.
